Laugh, and the world laughs with you;

Weep, and you weep alone.

For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth,

But has trouble enough of its own.

诗歌简介：

作者Ella Wheeler Wilcox（1850-1919）是美国著名作家和诗人，她的诗歌清新自然、韵律精美，很多诗歌广为流传；

她的13首作品被选入《最受喜爱的美国诗歌选集》。

本诗的首句“Laugh, and the world laughs with you; weep, and you weep alone”广为流传。

这首诗里的对人生的看法，看似豁达开朗，却又有种极其无奈的伤感。

朗读者简介：

梅丽尔·斯特里普（Meryl Streep），美国女演员，她在《穿普拉达的女魔头》《走出非洲》《铁娘子》等电影中塑造的经典形象深入人心。

她曾先后19次获得奥斯卡奖提名。

她于1979年获得奥斯卡最佳女配角奖，后于1982年和2011年两次获得奥斯卡最佳女主角奖。
