I frantically scour the world for you in the falling rain,
Desperate to see you again.
The air is thick as drenched fog.
A cool mist coats my lungs
As a sweet vapor.
We were once like moss and bark,
The beauty of our bond bookmarked
By good fortune among luck’s cruel frailties.
Things went sour for sorrows
Beyond my sagest reckoning.
As I plough the depths of the countryside
And my very being
For the path to your presence
And the answers for the questioning,
Thunderstorms hover above and below
And follow
Like dark-edged clouds
That cast shadows on passing tomorrows.
The wondering will cease in the end
But the wandering never will,
For my search will never be complete
Until
You and I meet
As friends.

I frantically scour the world for you in the falling rain,
